  • Back from the Big Apple, and back to work. I do not miss the cabs from hell. I embrace my commute now, at least I can control my destiny… #

Cameron, no!

So, by youngest (by 2 minutes) has become a little button pusher. Not just pushing my “buttons” but the buttons of anything he can get his fingers on. Remote controls, the television, you name it. He’s hit adventure mode and it seems that the words “Cameron, no!” do nothing but encourage him to continue his adventures. In fact he laughs and giggles at us when we say “Cameron, no!”… Parents out there will understand that the repetition of the word “no” can infuriate you, but when you are giggled at, even by a 1 year old, it becomes rage worthy.

Well I got sick of one particular adventure that Cameron continued on, the television. He found the power button and enjoys turning the TV on and off at will, giggling like a Sox fan watching Phil Hughes pitch to Manny. After countless “no’s” I decided to move the TV to higher ground. And we all know, swapping the TV around means endless hours of re-wiring and figuring out why the DVD player is not working… (insert your own version of what happened to me while moving the TV around, and assume it took me more than 15 minutes).

After the changing of TV stands, the twins arose from their slumber, and gazed upon the newly risen TV… Kate kinda shrugged and went back to playing peek-a-boo with herself. Cam, the adventurer - stood there gazing at the TV, then back at me, as if to say, “Yeah, like that will stop me.” And he strode over to the TV, and to my bewilderment, stood on his tippy toes and turned the TV off.

Hours of swearing, and the kid looks back at me and giggles. And all I can do is laugh.

Outsmarted by a 1 year old.
