New direction for blogging.

Life is busy, and blogging has not always been at the top of my list. So many things have changed in the year or so it’s been since I was tweeting and blogging regularly. It’s surely time to jump back in the saddle.

Transformers Makes the NYT Best Sellers List

In January I worked on an Omnibus (a super graphic novel that combines many other graphic novels into one mega-edition) based on The Transformers: Beast Wars, published by IDW Publishing in San Diego. This was a really interesting project, since it had not only a traditional comic element, but also a rather large encyclopedia section [...]

Dean Koontz’s Frankenstein

A while ago I created a logo for Dean Koont’z upcoming Graphic Novel, “Frankenstein: Prodigal Son”, based upon Mr. Koontz’s popular novel of the same name. Someone recently pointed me over to frankenstein.deankoontz.com where the logo is featured prominently.

Besides creating the logo for this series, I also lettered and designed the trade. Which is now [...]

Nominated for a Hugo Award

I’ve just learned that the graphic novel I worked on for Jim Butcher, “The Dresden Files: Welcome to the Jungle” has been nominated for a Hugo Award. This is great news, as this is a wonderful book.
I had the pleasure of designing this book from front to back and really thought the end result was [...]

The Dresden Files: Storm Front Trade

I recently delivered the cover for the comic shop version of Jim Butcher’s The Dresden Files: Storm Front (volume 1) [whew that was a mouthful] to DelRey, and I think it turned out rather nicely.

I created the background from scratch, and used the artwork from issue number one, of the main character of Harry Dresden [...]

ChoiceStream Stationery

Last year I worked on a n new corporate identity package for ChoiceStream, below is a sample of the new letterhead, envelops, and two-sided business cards that resulted.

ChoiceStream’s brand has streamlined each year over the past five years. The simplification in colors and the icon treatment goes along with the easy of incorporating the company’s [...]

Back to Brooklyn trade cover.

I’ve just turned in the covers for the BACK TO BROOKLYN trade paperback for Jimmy Palmiotti and Image Comics. I’m very happy with the way they turned out, especially this variant version, that will be available along side the normal cover design.

Jimmy asked me to come up with something with the main character and a [...]

Trade show booth design.

Last year I had the pleasure of collaborating with the Marketing Director, here at ChoiceStream, on a new trade show booth design for the company.
The booth is made of aluminum and features a separate podium and table area for demonstrations. It also has a mountable 30 inch screen for video presentations.
The booth showcases the ChoiceStream [...]

Updating the out dated.

It’s been some time since I put a bit of effort into my own website and portfolio. So, as you can see, the heavy lifting has begun. In the coming days I’ll be re-posting my portfolio and begin regular updates with projects as they finish.
Thanks for all the kind words of support.
